Pour Poor Anne is a one-woman performance based on the character study of Shakespeare’s Lady Anne in Richard III. By researching the capacities of the human will, I have taken the story of Lady Anne’s capacity to survive despite the terrible shortcomings of her existence.
From these tragic experiences, there is a reflection on how life is defined and death contemplated. This close liaison between life and death precariously determines our decisions and defines our existence. I believe art, in all mediums, discusses the subjects of life and death.
My creative process is a multi-task, experiential approach. I explore physical vocabularies based on gestural movement in order to understand human behavior in specific environments and circumstances. I currently enjoy writing and working with scripts, which are deconstructed and later re-imagined by inserting spontaneous vocal improvisations, ambient sounds and influential literature.
