This work begins to focus on the multiple interpretations of the act of holding both as a movement study and perceptual concept. While the female figures are in pursuit of a hold, the work plays with time and the positioning of the figures in relation to the viewer as a way to comment on how perception shifts. How long does the female figure hold on to the viewer’s focus? How does the viewer negotiate which female figure to concentrate on? How does the action of holding, become a mechanism to sustain attention?
